millennials lead the way in the adoption of streaming. but what about podcasts?

Two interesting charts.  The first may be a bit more obvious than the second.  The first chart shows the more rapid adoption of audio streaming services by 12-24 year-olds.  Okay, makes sense.  

 

 

 

The second chart looks specifically at audio-on-demand.  A preponderance of the most listened to podcasts are NPR type content and thus one might assume skews slightly older in demographic appeal.  If that's true, then one might think the adoption rate of podcasts might be different demographically than streaming with older demos leading the way. However, according to the latest Infinite Dial data from Edison Research, in podcasting, as in streaming,  younger demos lead the way.  So .... there is clearly a great opportunity for millenial oriented content.
